Future EV owners, heads up! The all-new smart #1 EV SUV is now available for booking in Malaysia via the Hello smart mobile app. While smart Malaysia and PRO-NET have yet to unveil the pricings for its EV SUV model, folks can now place a booking at a refundable fee of RM1,000.

Two smart #1 variants are now available for booking via Hello smart mobile app

For starters, only two variants of the smart #1 are available for booking, namely  the #1 Premium and the range-topping #1 Brabus. This means the baseline Pro+ variant offered in the Chinese market might not be available here, but we’ll have to wait until its launch date to confirm this matter.

Back to the two variants, the smart #1 Premium is powered by a single, rear-mounted (RWD) electric motor rated at 268 HP (200 kW) and 343 NM, capable of propelling this sub-two-tonne EV from nought to 100 KM/H in 6.7 seconds. Juiced by a 66-kWh lithium nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, the #1 Premium is good for a maximum EV range of 440 KM, according to WLTP standard.

The range-topping smart #1 Brabus is powered by a dual electric motor setup

Meanwhile, the souped-up #1 Brabus gets a peppier dual-motor all-wheel drive setup, delivering a total system output of 422 HP (315 kW) and 543 NM. Juiced by the same 66-kWh battery as the Premium, the #1 Brabus gets a slightly lower maximum EV range of 400 KM (WLTP), while its peppier dual-motor setup grants it a faster century finish time of only 3.9 seconds.

In terms of charging, both the #1 Premium and Brabus get the same 400-volt battery architecture courtesy of the Geely’s SEA platform it underpin. Charging both cars via a 22 kW AC charging method will take more than three hours to fill up its battery, while the faster 150 kW DC charging can charge them up from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.

Browsing through the Hello smart app and you’ll see that the #1 Premium is offered in seven exterior colourways, ranging from Laser Red, Digital White, Quantum Blue, Lumen Yellow, Cyber Silver, Future Green, and Atom Grey Matte. Only one interior colourway is available for this model, which is the dual-tone Dark Matter hue.

On the other hand, the #1 Brabus also comes with seven exterior hue options, with six of them being two-tone. This includes the Matte Black-Radiant Red, Laser Red-Eclipse Black, Cyber Silver-Radiant Red, Cyber Silver-Eclipse Black, Digital White-Eclipse Black, Atom Grey Matte-Radiant Red, with sole single-toned offering being the Atom Grey Matte.

Aside from that, the Brabus variant also gains some extra cosmetic touch-ups compared to the Premium spec. Key highlights include a slew of red accents on its exterior, vented front hood, Brabus badging, sporty roof-mounted rear spoiler, as well as snazzier 19-inch ‘Dynamo’ alloy wheels.

Both the smart #1 Premium and Brabus will make its official market entry later in Q4 this year. Only by then we’ll get to know the exact price tags and other disclosed details on these new EV SUVs. The Hello smart mobile app can now be downloaded via Apple App Store, Google Play Store, as well as the Huawei App Gallery.
