The Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup Malaysia 2023 Finals takes place this weekend!

Heads up avid e-sport and Gran Turismo 7 fans, the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup Malaysia 2023 Finals is happening throughout this weekend.

Previously known as the GR Velocity eSports Championship, this year’s finals event sees UMW Toyota Motor putting up the competition’s largest ever combined prize money pool amounting to RM90,500. Like previous editions, the top three winners will also go on to represent Malaysia in the GR GT Cup Asia to vie for a seat to compete in the World Finals.

Who will reign supreme at this year edition of the highly competitive Toyota Gazoo Racing-branded esports championship?

Besides that, this weekend’s event will also see the participation of the top 10 fastest racers scouted from GR GT Cup Malaysia Campus Tour which for the first time this year, introduced the sim-racing series and experience at universities across Malaysia. The representatives this weekend will represent the proud institutions of UiTM Shah Alam, INTI Subang and Sunway University.

Apart from the virtual racing action, there’s plenty of other highlights to look forward to as well. The event will see the appearance of celebrity racers from the Toyota Gazoo Racing Championship as well with the likes of Shukri Yahaya, Zizan Razak, Ain Edruce, Ahirine Ahirudin, and more.

At the centre of the challenge is the Gran Turismo sim-racing title.

Apart from which, the Gazoo Racing GT Cup Malaysia 2023 Finals will also see a number of GR performance models put on display, and fans can also get their hands on official GR merchandise here too. Moreover, UMW Toyota have also test-drive sessions for members of the public to sample models like the new Vios sedan, the Yaris hatch, as well as the Corolla Cross Hybrid.

Besides celebrities making appearances, the event will also feature a number of GR performance models on display plus official GR merchandise being retailed too.
