Proton New Energy Technology (Pro-Net), the distributors of the Geely Mercedes collaborative idea smart cars, will unveil their first offering for the Malaysian market, the smart #1, in November. The smart #1 was previewed at the recent EVx 2023, followed by public test drives at Gamuda Cove.

There are rumours that the price will be announced this coming October, however Pro-Net just released the official Hello smart App, which will be available on all IOS and Android platforms. The launch version of this app would allow consumers to experience the complete spectrum of smart car ownership by effortlessly integrating technology into their everyday routines, increasing convenience, and elevating their overall ownership experience.
The Hello smart App, with its simple four-tab interface, promises to simplify and enrich the digital journey for EV enthusiasts. The Discover tab would keep smart vehicle owners informed of what's going on in the smart car eco-system by broadcasting the most recent news, events, and links to the smart community website. All digital product e-Brochures and notifications would also be stored in this tab.

Meanwhile, the Vehicle tab would allow users to customise their automobiles, estimate monthly payments, request for loans, arrange services, and access real-time vehicle information. Battery status, charging status, driving range, and location would all be available in real time. Users can also remotely operate the air conditioner, door, and windows, as well as set the charging time.

The e-Mall tab allows users to access a virtual store for official smart products and accessories, as well as collect loyalty points that can be used for exciting rewards, whereas the Profile tab highlights all smart App functionalities and provides customisation possibilities.
According to Zhang Qiang, CEO of smart Malaysia, "smart Malaysia is committed to boosting the connection between smart vehicle owners and their cars via the Hello smart App, which takes integration to the next level, keeping users in the loop and connected.”
Furthermore, the Hello smart App would include an in-app live Charging Map & Navigation System, Vehicle Booking & Financing Loan Application, One-Stop Service Home Charging Solution, and Community Engagement, which would provide a seamless ownership experience as well as the opportunity to engage with the smart community.

The most essential of them is the live Charging Map, which would display real-time charging point information such as the availability status of 70% of public charging points across the country thanks to the MOU inked last October between Pro-net and Gentari giving smart car owners access to all Gentari, Yinson and EVC charging netwrok. smart car owners would be able to commence charging and make payments using the Hello smart software without having to download any additional app.
Another innovative in-app feature is the ability to apply for loans directly from the app, a One-Stop Service Home Charging Solution that simplifies the purchase and installation of smartCharge Home Chargers, and a community page where users can connect, share experiences, and exchange insights with fellow smart enthusiasts.

When users of the Hello smart App invite friends to acquire a smart car, they will gain loyalty points that can be used to purchase official items, accessories, and charging solutions from the e-Mall.
Those interested in learning more about the smart #1 can now download the Hello smart App and look through its current offerings. A further updated version would be released shortly before vehicle delivery in Q4 to include further enhancements and functions.
