RHB Lekas Highway Ride 2023 - Lekas Highway Closed 21-22 Oct 2023
To make room for the yearly night cycling race, the RHB Lekas Highway Ride 2023, the Kajang-Seremban Highway (Lekas) is slated for a temporary closure affecting all cars from 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, to 4 a.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2023.
The road restriction will extend from the Kajang Selatan interchange to the Paroi junction, according to Lekas CEO Wan Salwani Wan Yusoff. Approximately nine junctions will be closed, along with 20 access and departure locations, with the main objective being to provide the 6,115 participants with a secure and comfortable trip.
The RHB Lekas Highway Ride 2023 will consist of four categories: 12 km, 22 km, 78 km, and 120 km. Participants are advised to park their vehicles at the designated Bandar Teknologi Kajang area next to the race site.
Road users from places including Kuala Lumpur, Cheras, Kajang, Seremban, Senawang, and Kuala Pilah are encouraged to utilise alternate routes, such as Federal Route 1 or the PLUS Highway, to continue their journeys during the road closure.
The Malaysian Sports Commissioner has given his approval for the organisation of the cycling event, and the event has received the necessary approvals from the Ministry of Works and the Malaysian Highway Authority for venue sponsorship, cooperation from the Bukit Aman Traffic Division for traffic management planning, and the support of the Bukit Aman Traffic Division.
An estimated 60,000 vehicles are expected to be impacted by the road closure. Lekas expressed its heartfelt appreciation to the Royal Malaysian Police for their assistance and support, as officers from Kajang, Mantin, Nilai, and Seremban will help to manage the road closure.
Lekas also offered its apologies to any inconveniences that may occur from the closure of the road, and it would like to let consumers know that the Infoline 1800 888 021 is open in case they need any additional information.
