Shell Malaysia Launches New Star Wars RC Car Collection

Unveiled today by Shell Malaysia is the brand’s latest remote-controlled car collection which draws inspiration from the globally-renowned sci-fi epic, Star Wars. Dubbed as the Star Wars Racers Collection, this collection merges innovation associated with the Shell V-Power, alongside the timeless appeal of fan-favourite Star Wars characters.

Shell Malaysia's Star Wars Racers Collection features six model, each drawing inspiration from the series coloured cast of characters! 

Representing the franchise’s long-standing theme of striving for balance of the Force, this six-piece collection features several iconic Star Wars characters like Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Darth Maul, The Mandalorian, Boba Fett, as well as BB-8. Each of these models features a perfect culmination of its characters, all packaged in a small, four-wheeled form.

The sleek, dark and elegant Darth Vader Racer is inspired by the menacing aura of the fan-favourite villain of the series, with its front grille being reminiscent of Vader’s iconic mask design with the beaming LED lights meant to represent its menacing glare. Meanwhile, the Stormtrooper Racer adopts the black-and-white theme from the uniform of the Imperial Army’s minions.

Sticking to the Dark Side of the Force, the Darth Maul Racer pays homage to one of the earliest villains of the series, featuring a deep, blood-red metallic finish with a roof inspired by Maul’s horns. This is followed by the The Mandalorian Racer – a matte silver-finished RC model inspired by the famed bounty hunter, Din Djarin.

Another famous bounty hunter of the series is also getting an homage, in the form of the Bobba Fett Racer. Inspired by the dent on Fett’s helmet, the design team managed to fit this theme into the RC model as well. Completing Shell Malaysia’s Star Wars Racer Collection lineup is the BB-8 Racer, inspired by the beloved droid from the sequel trilogy saga of Star Wars.

This Star Wars Racers Collection by Shell Malaysia retains all the special features of its predecessors, including the Bluetooth control and proprietary smart battery from the Shell Motorsports Collection last year. All the models are controllable via your smartphone through a dedicated Shell Racing App.

This limited-edition Star Wars Racers Collection is available for purchase starting from Oct 6 until Nov 19 this year, where it will be released on a one-model-per-week basis. Individual car models with the exception of the Darth Vader Racer are available for purchase at RM49.90 with a minimum RM50 fuel purchase in a single receipt, while the smart Bluetooth battery is sold separately at RM30 with the same minimum fuel purchase as the car models.

Meanwhile, the limited-edition Darth Vader Racer is complimentary for every purchase of the Shell Helix Ultra/Power 4L at any authorised Shell fuel stations. To complete this collection, there’s a special Collector Casing available for purchase at RM89.90 when they pump RM80 worth of Shell V-Power Racing fuel in a single receipt.
