Tan Chong Motor Receives Prestigious Nissan Global Awards
Malaysia’s Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) has received Nissan's highest honour by winning the Nissan Global Award for the Southeast Asia region.
The Nissan Global Award Programme for Importers recognises Importers and National Sales Companies (NSC) for their efforts and achievements in sales and aftersales.
Tan Chong & Sons Motor Company Sdn Bhd, through its sales and marketing arm, Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM), was named the top performer among 19 eligible markets, excelling in overall sales volume, market share, and customer service activities. Tan Chong Motor Sales Pte Ltd of Singapore shared the honours.
In addition to the sales achievement, ETCM's aftersales division was named the top performer and Grand Prize winner in the regional aftersales category for excellence in parts and accessories, service performance, logistics, and customer service.
For the record, Tan Chong & Sons Motor Company Sdn. Bhd., which operates Nissan's business in Malaysia under the name Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM), has been a Nissan importer-distributor partner since 1957.
Yoshinori Kanazawa, vice president of Nissan Motor Asia Pacific Co NIBU-ASEAN, said the Tan Chong Motor team demonstrated their ability to excel in adversity despite the challenges posed by production supply shortages and turbulent market dynamics in fiscal year 2022.
“Thus, it is an honour to present Tan Chong Motor with the Nissan Global Award 2023 in recognition of the outstanding performance as the official importer and distributor of Nissan vehicles in Malaysia over the fiscal year of 2022,” he said.
ETCM sales and marketing director Christopher Tan stated that Tan Chong has been associated with the Nissan brand in Malaysia for more than 60 years as a business partner.
“We stand alongside Nissan in support of their mission to drive innovation that enriches people’s lives. Our new Nissan 3S Flagship Store in Petaling Jaya, Selangor was recently unveiled to better serve our customers, while the remainder of the ETCM network is also being transformed in accordance to the latest Nissan Retail Concept,” Tan said.
