Eligible Malaysians Can Apply For Electric Motorcycle Scheme From December 2023

The Electric Motorcycle Use Promotion Scheme, which encourages the use of electric motorcycles, will accept applications in December of this year.
According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, buyers can receive a rebate of up to RM2,400 under this scheme, which is available to those with annual incomes of RM120,000 and less.
The government unveiled the Electric Motorcycle Use Promotion Scheme in the Budget 2024 presentation to assist riders in making the switch to electric motorcycles.
He stated that the government appreciates Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), Gentari Sdn Bhd, and Tesla Malaysia's investment of more than RM170 million in the installation of 180 electric vehicle charging stations.
“In line with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), the government is providing an RM2 billion easy financing fund for the national energy transition plan,” Anwar said.
According to NETR, the government has aimed to increase the share of electric two-wheelers on Malaysian roads to 80% by 2050. It has also assigned the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI) to spearhead the effort.
