Anthony Loke first suggested this electronic testing back in 2018 with the primary goal to deter applicants from buying off teachers in order to pass their exams.
MyEG announced that it had received a letter from Malaysia's Road Transport Department approving the implementation of the MYDTS pilot phase (MYDTS Pilot Test) involving actual test candidates from 18 December 2023 to 16 February 2024.

According to the group, there are no risks associated with the MYDTS Pilot Test. According to MyEG, the appointment is in the best interests of the business and, should successful commercialization ensue, should have a positive impact on the company's earnings and net assets per share for the fiscal years ending December 31, 2024, onward.

For the record, Anthony Loke, the transport minister at the time, first suggested this electronic testing back in 2018. His primary goal was to deter applicants from buying off teachers in order to pass their exams.

JPJ declared in January 2020 that this system will go into effect in June 2020. But everything came to an end when the Covid-19 pandemic struck because driving schools were unable to continue operating because of MCO.

The Road Transport Department gave MyEG the go-ahead in November 2021 to start the proof of concept for an automated training and driving test system, or e-Testing, to be set up in order to evaluate candidates completing the Drivers' Learning Education Curriculum.

Even though the POC will have no contractual value, if the digital application is launched, MyEG and potential applicants may find great value in the proposal for modernizing the driving license process.
