Report: Bermaz Set To Introduce New Mazda And Kia SUVs In 2024

Bermaz looks set to introduce four new SUV models in 2024 from both the Mazda and Kia brands.
According to a recent MIDF report published by local business daily The Edge, Bermaz looks set to have a busy start to 2024. Said report indicates that the firm, which distributes both the Mazda and Kia brands, will launch a bevy of new crossover SUV offerings from both brands come the new year.
Starting with Bermaz’s core Mazda brand, the MIDF report notes that both the face-lifted 2024MY Mazda CX-5 and the new Mazda CX-60 luxury SUV will be added into Bermaz’s Mazda line-up for Malaysia next year.

The CX-5 is due for a refresh, and this is set to come early in 2024. Prices for the popular model is also set to see a slight hike.
For the face-lifted CX-5, CariCarz.com has learned of Bermaz’s plans to launch said refreshed C-segment crossover SUV offering for some time now. This is a staple product for the Mazda brand locally, and it is due for a refresh.
Dealer briefings that have leaked online recently indicate that the refreshed CX-5 line-up for 2024 will see up to five variants – four petrol and one diesel – available, all featuring slight exterior design updates plus a slew of new features on board like wired Android Auto and wireless charging.
The refreshed CX-5 range is also expected to command slightly higher pricing than the outgoing model. Presently, the CX-5 line-up is priced between RM139,069.20 and RM187,060.40.

The new CX-60 is also expected to make landfall in 2024 through Bermaz. This model will bring the Mazda brand into a new segment altogether.
The same MIDF report also mentions Bermaz’s plans to introduce the brand-new Mazda CX-60, and this will bring the Mazda brand into a new and higher-end segment to compete against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class and BMW X3.
The CX-60 has already launched in both neighbouring Singapore and Philippines recently. For Malaysia, Bermaz is expected to offer the CX-60 across several guises in both rear- (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) forms.

The latest-gen Kia Sportage SUV is also tipped to enter Malaysia through Bermaz's Dinamikjaya Motors arm in 2024 where it will slot below the Sorento.
Moving on to the Kia brand that’s handled by Bermaz through its Dinamikjaya Motors arm, the MIDF report mentions that the Korean marque’s line-up is set to grow under the local firm through the introduction of two new SUV models as well.
Amongst the two is the latest fifth-generation Kia Sportage, which will naturally slot just below the Kia Sorento model. Said new C-segment crossover SUV fighter will debut as a locally assembled (CKD) model with both petrol and diesel choices available – much like the CX-5 mentioned earlier.

The MIDF report also indicates Bermaz's plans to introduce the new Kia Carens compact SUV offering in 2024.
Another model mentioned in said MIDF report is the Kia Carens – a compact B-segment crossover SUV developed primarily for sale in emerging markets. Said model recently debuted in Indonesia too, and its entry into the Malaysia market seems likely to happen come 2024.
So which of these are most excited to see in the new year? As usual, share your thoughts in the comments below, as well as our social media pages…
