Zeekr Unveils LFP Battery With The Highest Charging Speed In The World

The upcoming Zeekr 007 sedan will use the batteries, which are produced at Zeekr's battery plant in Zhejiang Province. They are expected to offer quick charging times and a longer driving range.
According to CNEV, Zeekr's LFP batteries distinguished themselves by providing an impressive driving range of 500 km (311 miles) and sufficiently charging the 007 sedan in just 15 minutes.

The batteries are integrated with an 800-volt electric system to accomplish this amazing feat, demonstrating Zeekr's dedication to cutting edge technology.
Zeekr's engineering team concentrated on achieving a higher energy density at the pack level, in contrast to the widely held belief that LFP cells have a lower energy density than nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) batteries.
The result is a powerful LFP battery that is still reasonably priced, which is consistent with Zeekr's mission to provide high-end EVs at competitive pricing.
The carmaker highlights the success of their new battery pack by highlighting its exceptional volume utilization rate of 83.7%, which outperforms many competitors worldwide.
The company continues to place a high focus on safety, as demonstrated by the packs passing six rigorous safety tests, including one in which the National Motor Vehicle Quality Inspection and Testing Center tested for nail penetration.
Even in colder winter temperatures, Zeekr claims that the charging performance of its exclusive LFP batteries outperforms that of several rivals. These batteries will be incorporated into the Zeekr 007 sedan, opening the door for additional EV models from the company.
Zeekr is systematically growing its fast-charging infrastructure in tandem with these technological advancements. By the end of 2024, Zeekr intends to expand its fast-charging network to 1,000 stations throughout China.
By 2026, it wants to run over 10,000 360+ kW charging piles. This large investment strengthens Zeekr's position in the developing electric vehicle market and advances the overall growth of the EV charging ecosystem.
