Chery Omoda E5 Goes On Sale In Indonesia With LIFETIME Warranty
Chery Motor Indonesia debuted the Omoda E5 earlier this week in said republic. The first 1,000 customers not only enjoy a special discount, they also benefit with an ultra-long 'Lifetime' extended warranty. (Image: Marketeers.com)
Whilst we await for its official Malaysian market launch next month, the Chery Omoda E5 EV crossover SUV has already gone on sale in neighbouring Indonesia earlier this week. Moreover, the model is poised to woo buyers not just through its attractive government-subsidised price as a locally assembled (CKD) product there.
Before you ask, Chery’s Indonesian arm reportedly retails the Omoda E5 officially in said republic at IDR498 million (approx. RM151,875). Moreover, the first 1,000 customers enjoy a further discount on which at IDR488 million (approx. RM148,825). However, this pales in contrast to the next fact.
Attractive pricing aside, Chery Motor Indonesia is also offering a LIFETIME warranty for the to the Omoda E5’s electric motor and battery. Yes, you read that ride – LIFETIME. Such a warranty scheme is almost unheard of anywhere, but there’s a catch – there always is with things like this.
Whilst it sounds unbelievable at first, said ultra-long warranty scheme is only offered exclusively to the first 1,000 customers of the Omoda E5 in Indonesia. Yes, not only do these early birds benefit with both a government-incentivised price and a further discount by the automaker, they also benefit with said lifetime warranty coverage on top of which too.
The Chery Omoda 5E's attractive pricing in Indonesia is perhaps borne out of its government-incetivised price thanks to its status as a locally built (CKD) model that's built in said republic. (Image: CNN Indonesia)
For Indonesian buyers who weren’t quick enough to jump on the offer, the news isn’t all that bad. Beyond the first 1,000 customers, regular buyers adopting the made in- and for-Indonesia Omoda E5 get a standard 6-year or 160,000 KM battery and electric motor warranty instead.
Both the special lifetime and regular warranty mentioned comes on top of a separate 6-year or 160,000 KM vehicle warranty too. As if that wasn't enough, Chery Motor Indonesia also includes a 5-year or 75,000 KM free spare parts deal as well.
Yes, Chery Motor Indonesia is certainly going the extra mile in pushing the Omoda E5 in perhaps what many tout to be the ASEAN region’s largest new EV market. This certainly is an exciting prospect for avid new EV adopters in said neighbouring republic.
Locally, Chery Malaysia did a similar promotional effort by including a 10-year or 1,000,000 KM extended warranty for the first 3,000 customers of the Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro pictured above.

All-electric Chery Omoda E5 that was previewed locally by Chery Malaysia sometime back. The model is set to officially launch next month (March), but prices, as well as after-sales packages, remain undisclosed for now.
Locally, perhaps it is slightly far fetched to expect Chery Malaysia to offer a similar deal, even on a limited and promotional scale, for the Omoda E5 that's set to launch next month. However, we won’t discount the possibility just yet.
After all, this is the very same automaker that offers an optional 10-year or up to 1,000,000 KM extended warranty plan on the Malaysia-made Chery Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro SUVs duo for an additional RM2,000. In fact, this extended warranty plan was offered for FREE to the first 3,000 customers.
Should Chery Malaysia consider such a deal for Omoda E5 early birds in Malaysia? Would such an ultra-long warranty convince you into adopting this budding new left-field Chinese segment entry when it debuts next month? As always, hit the comments below – and our social media pages – with your take on things…
