Chinese EV Makers Are Offering Unique Extras To Customers

The ability to think creatively is a critical component for survival for smaller players in the market because of the competitive industry.
Electric cars with built-in refrigerators or in-car karaoke systems are no longer considered cutting-edge, upscale features in China. In an attempt to increase sales, which have been slow lately, automakers are now providing these features and are even looking into more opulent features like beds and cooktops.
Due to Chinese consumers' tightening budgets, major electric vehicle manufacturers are seeing a slowdown in demand. Furthermore, the outlook for exports is being negatively impacted by tensions with major Western economies.

The ability to think creatively is a critical component for survival for smaller players in the market. Because the industry is so competitive, consolidation is expected as China attempts to rein in the excesses brought on by years of generous subsidies.

Chinese electric cars' cutting-edge features also draw attention to the possible risk that Western automakers face if they keep falling behind in the race for market share in the biggest auto market in the world. Customers believe Chinese-made cars are more appropriate for their extensive technological needs and preference for high connectivity levels.
Chinese automakers are going beyond traditional automakers' primary focus on an automobile's performance. One of the reasons why people are becoming more and more interested in electric cars is that they are investigating different living and recreational scenarios. The following are some distinctive features found in Chinese electric cars:

Tents and sleeping bags: Xpeng's G9 SUV has a practical bed feature that can be activated with a single button press. In response to China's growing camping culture, the seats fold flat, and a double-size air mattress automatically inflates, making it a cozy place to snooze on long drives.

Eliminating motion sickness with technology: When driving on uneven roads, Geely's Galaxy E8 electric sedan vibrates at a frequency similar to a person's heartbeat. In order to reduce the discomfort that is frequently connected with electric cars, it also has a smooth braking system. Geely-Galaxy-E8-1a.jpg

EV SUV flatbed options: Li Auto's L-Series SUV boasts opulent features like integrated massagers and extended range. For outdoor enthusiasts, Rox Motor Tech's Polestones 01 offers a rear-mounted camping-style kitchen with an induction cooker and water dispenser.

Drones with cameras: BYD and DJI have partnered to incorporate a drone that takes off and lands from a retractable case on the roof with their Yangwang U8 EV. For tech-savvy users, it can record high-definition photos and offer real-time aerial views, improving the driving experience. BYD_Yangwang_U8_drone_DJI_e1232ccd1a.jpg

Car gamification: Manufacturers of electric vehicles, such as Li Auto and Tesla, provide options for in-car gaming. With its detachable steering wheel, BYD goes one step further by enabling users to use the car's pedals and in-car display to play video games. But safety concerns have led to limitations, like allowing gaming only when the vehicle is stationary.

Not only that, but a number of exciting innovations are being developed as well:

A line-and-hook-equipped vehicle-mounted fishing system is being investigated by Geely and its electric vehicle brand, Zeekr. With its location sensors, the vehicle will give the driver information on adjacent bodies of water, such as depth and flow rate, as well as historical fishing data to pinpoint the best locations. Long-range and accurate casting will be possible with this system, and the car will automatically reel in fish that bite.

In the meantime, IM Motors, a division of SAIC Corp,  is creating an in-car plant-care system. This creative design will catch condensation from the car's cooling system and rainwater from the roof. The system will recognize various plant species inside the vehicle and calculate the best time using specialized software.
