The Works Ministry (KKR) announced toll-free travel on highways on April 8 and 9 in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
According to a statement posted on KKR's social media, the Cabinet agreed to waive toll rates for Class 1 vehicles on all highways nationwide from 12:01 a.m. on April 8 to 11:59 p.m. on April 9.

During this time, there will be no toll fee collection at all toll plaza except Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) and Tanjung Kupang in Johor. However users would still be required to tap-in and out at all toll plazas as a measure of calculating the amount the government would need to reimburse the toll concessionaires.
According to the press release, the total financial impact of the two-day toll-free travel experiment is projected to be RM37.6 million.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi says the toll exemption is expected to result in a daily increase of 2.46 million cars on the highway networks. As a result, road users are urged to plan their travel using MyJalan or MyPLUS-TTA, which have been integrated to allow users to not only plan their journey but also report breakdowns through the application.
Furthermore, 18 places have been selected for Smartlane implementation with the assistance of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and the Road Transport Department (JPJ). You can learn more about this by clicking on the blue text.
