Over 80% of the 119,880 Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad’s (KTMB) electric train service (ETS) tickets for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri travel period from April 1 to April 15 have been sold.

Suhaimi Yaacob, KTMB CEO, mentioned that 37% of the 15,120 additional ETS tickets have also been purchased. KTMB recently shifted towards digital platforms for ticket sales, allowing buyers to plan up to six months ahead for ticket purchases.

The additional ETS tickets consist of six services, including two for KL Sentral-Padang Besar-KL Sentral, two for KL Sentral-Butterworth-KL Sentral and two express lane services for KL Sentral-Ipoh-KL Sentral.

Suhaimi further noted that, "For journeys to the East Coast, we will continue operating the nostalgia or push and pull trains, with one daily trip from JB Central to Tumpat. Additionally, we've arranged a special train for Aidilfitri, running from KL Sentral to Tumpat and back. Both services, whether on the West or East Coast, have received a very positive response."

Considering the anticipated rush at all KTMB stations nationwide before Aidilfitri, Suhaimi advised the public to arrive at the train stations earlier than usual to avoid congestion.
