Chery Exeed 08 MPV Unveiled Ahead of Auto China Debut

Unveiled ahead of its global debut at the Auto China 2024 show is the all-new Chery Exeed 08 MPV.

The upcoming 2024 Beijing Auto Show (also known as Auto China) promises to be quite a spectacle, with a slew of new models and concepts both from China and abroad poised to make their global debut in the People’s Republic Capital next week. Joining the long list of debutantes at said auto show is the Chery Exeed 08 MPV – the marque’s new flagship luxury MPV.

Set to be launched under the Wuhu-based marque’s luxury sub-brand, Exeed, CarNewsChina reports that the new Exeed 08 MPV is said to harness a ‘new energy’ powertrain setup. However, we’d reckon it’ll be fully electric to join the marque’s new Exlantix EV flagship lineup, which currently comprises both the ET SUV and ES saloon.

Should the 08 MPV join the Exlantix lineup, we can assume that this MPV would underpin the same E0X all-electric platform as its aforementioned siblings, featuring an 800-volt architecture with a CATL-sourced lithium phosphate iron (LFP) battery pack.

The Exeed 08 MPV's design is penned in collaboration between both Exeed's Europe and Shanghai design teams.

Design-wise, the Exeed 08 MPV is jointly penned by Exeed’s Europe and Shanghai design teams, featuring the brand’s latest Wind Aesthetics 2.0 design language. At the front, the 08 MPV sports a clean front face, featuring an illuminated front grille flanked by its dual-stack LED headlights with slim LED DRLs.

From the side, you can see that the Exeed 08 MPV comes with a very sleek and rakish front windscreen that starts all the way from its front hood. While the rest of the car boasts the typical boxy MPV body style, notable features present here include the massive sliding doors with hidden door handles, digital side-view cameras instead of physical side mirrors, as well as the sizable, fully-enclosed wheels the MPV rides on.

At the rear, this sleek MPV sports dual L-shaped LED taillights that are mounted vertically, with the top units running along the rear pillars while the bottom ones run until the lower part of the bumper. The rest of the tailgate, however, is being kept rather clean and simple, with the only branding present here being the Exeed lettering at the centre.

Set to go against the likes of NEV MPVs like the Xpeng X9 and Zeekr 009, the all-new Exeed 08 MPV is poised to make its public debut at the upcoming 2024 Beijing Auto Show. By then, we should already know all the hidden and additional details of this sleek MPV, including its NEV powertrain nature.

Besides its native Chinese market, Exeed is also available in several international markets, with the main Exeed model lineup comprising both full-ICE and partially-electrified powertrains like hybrids. Meanwhile, the new Exeed Exlantix lineup is exclusively reserved for both battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) and range-extender EVs (REEVs).
