Four highways under the Amanat Lebuhraya Rakyat (ALR) concession,  Sprint Expressway (SPRINT), Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel Expressway (SMART), Damansara-Puchong Highway (LITRAK) and Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS) will retain their current toll charges till the concession expires.

Group CEO Sazally Saidi made the announcement during a recent "buka puasa" event at Glam Hall Damansara in Petaling Jaya.

According to the CEO, the toll rate freeze will result in around RM800 million to RM1 billion in direct savings for motorists and the government in terms of toll compensation.

Low Jo-Lyn, Group Chief Transformation and Corporate Officer, stated that ALR's sukuk, which was issued in 2022, has a 15-year maturity time; however, with increasing traffic volume, the concessions will eventually be shorter. It is estimated that ALR will be able to repay the sukuk by 2033 or 2034.

It was also revealed that ALR was a private, non-profit organisation formed to expedite the handover of the four roadways to the Malaysian government. The ALR is estimated to yield RM487.6 million in direct savings for motorists and RM467 million in toll compensation savings for the government.
