PJD-Link-layout-750x944-(1).jpg The Cabinet decided on Wednesday to halt the construction of the Petaling Jaya Dispersal Link (PJD Link) highway project in Petaling Jaya because the project's developer, PJD Link (M) Sdn Bhd, had not complied with several previous requirements.

Speaking on behalf of the government, Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil said that no time was added to the decision after the project concessionaire failed to meet the requirements.

"The Cabinet today (Wednesday) decided not to continue discussions with PJD Link. PJD Link has applied for an extension [of time] to meet a number of conditions precedent, but this has been rejected by the government, and the decision is not to continue.

"As a result of that (failure to meet a number of conditions precedent), the project will not continue," Fahmi said at a press conference here on Wednesday. The 25.4km proposed two-lane dual carriageway (four-lane expressway) would begin after the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) Toll Plaza at the Sprint Expressway, Damansara, with PJD Link serving as the concessionaire. The Bukit Jalil Highway intersection would be its final stop.

PJD Link and the Malaysian government inked a concession agreement on April 5, 2022 that's aimed  to lessen traffic jams and make room for more cars in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley. PJD-LINK-Cancel-Caricarz-(1)-full_normal.jpg
