Check Out The Tiggo 7 Pro at Chery Auto Malaysia’s MAS 2024 Booth
You can check out the new Tiggo 7 Pro & many other Chery models at Chery Auto Malaysia’s booth at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024.
The ongoing Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (MAS 2024) has witnessed a slew of new and upcoming models from renowned automakers being showcased to the public for the first time. One of the participating brands is Chery Auto Malaysia, where the Chinese marque has taken the MAS 2024 stage to showcase its upcoming C-segment SUV model, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro.
The Malaysian-bound Chery Tiggo 7 Pro C-segment SUV
Visitors to the MAS 2024 can feast their eyes and get close to this upcoming C-SUV, which is set to make its official market debut some time later in Q2 this year. Arriving in a full-ICE guise, the Malaysian-bound Tiggo 7 Pro is exclusively powered by a 1.6-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol mill that is rated at 194 HP and 290 NM.
Mated to a seven-speed DCT automatic gearbox, Chery claims this turbocharged powertrain setup can deliver a decent fuel economy rate of 7 litres/100 KM.
As for dimensions, the Tiggo 7 Pro sits 4,513 MM long with a 2,670 MM wheelbase, 1,862 MM wide, and 1,696 MM tall with a 175 MM ground clearance. This makes the Tiggo 7 Pro’s footprint very comparable to other popular C-segment SUVs like the Proton X70, Mazda CX-5, and many more.
Chery Tiggo 8 Pro e+ plug-in hybrid (PHEV) D-segment SUV
Besides the Tiggo 7 Pro, Chery Auto Malaysia also showcased the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of its D-segment SUV, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro e+. Previewed in a special media event back in 2022, the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV uses a 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbocharged engine that is paired with two electric motors and a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) that delivers 241 HP and 510 NM.
This combination sees this rather hefty SUV sprint from nought to 100 KMH in about 8.2 seconds, while its EV-only range is capped at a decent rate of 80 KM.
Visually, the Tiggo 8 Pro e+ looks painstakingly similar to its full-ICE twin that debuted locally last year. The only few notable differences we’re able to notice are the presence of an AC Type 2 charging port located at the left side of its front fenders, as well as the absence of the quad tailpipes we saw on its full-ICE twin.
Apart from those two models, other models currently on sale by Chery Auto Malaysia are also present here, including the newly-launched Omoda E5 EV SUV, the Omoda 5, as well as the aforementioned Tiggo 8 Pro. Visitors to Chery’s booth can also indulge themselves with a complimentary cup of coffee by snapping and sharing their creative photos of the Chery booth.
Located at Hall A of MAEPS Serdang, you can visit the Chery Auto Malaysia booth throughout the Malaysia Autoshow 2024, happening from May 22 to 26.
