Launched: Updated BYD Atto 3 – Just 1 Variant Now, RM149,800

The face-lifted and enhanced 2024 BYD Atto 3 EV crossover as landed in Malaysia, but solely in Standard Range guise.
As expected, BYD Sime Darby Motors just revised its line-up today by launching the updated and enhanced BYD Atto 3. The highly popular EV crossover SUV arrives in its latest form locally with just 1 single variant available.

Exterior changes are mild, but does see a simplified new BYD tailgate badge, and new black-finished C-pillar trims.
Available for orders now is the Atto 3 Standard Range guise, with BYD SD Motors electing to drop the Extended Range variant that was available previously. In this from, the Atto 3 continues to adopt a front-mounted e-motor that powers the front wheels with 201 HP and 310 NM.
Said e-motor continues to be juiced by BYD’s signature Blade lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery pack, but Standard Range guise sees it living with just a 49.92 kWh capacity. The unchanged specs means unchanged 7 kW AC and 70 kW DC charging inputs acceptance too.
This also see unchanged charging times, with DC fast-charging delivering 0-80% re-charges in just 45 minutes. The good news though is that the built-in V2L functionality remains present in this variant as well.

Standard Range sees the Atto 3 harness the same 201 HP front-mounted e-motor from before, as well as a smaller 49.92 kWh battery pack. Unchanged too are the latter's acceptance of 7 KW AC and 70 kW DC charging inputs.
Aesthetic changes are mild, but includes noticeable new additions such as black fin trim pieces in the C-pillars. Also ditched is the ‘Build Your Dreams’ script badge on the tailgate, which has been replaced with a simple ‘BYD’ script badge instead.
Apart from which, little else has changed with Atto 3’s exterior, but this refreshed 2024 model year version does see new Cosmos Black paintjob option added alongside the familiar Surf Blue, Ski White, and Boulder Grey choices. Dropped are the Parkour Red and Forest Green hues.
On board, the cabin gains a new Black/Dark Blue combination theme colour option next to a Dark Blue/Grey choice. The former is paired exclusively with the Cosmos Black and Boulder Grey exterior paint, whilst the latter is matched with the Ski White and Surf Blue exterior colour choice.

The white, blue, and silver hues from before remains, but there's now a new 'Cosmos Black' option added in place of the now dropped red and green choices seen prior.
Over on to kit and the most noticeable change here is the larger new 15.6-inch rotating infotainment display screen replacing the previous version’s 12.8-inch unit. This revised Standard Range guise also gains a multi-colour ambient lighting suite and a wireless charging pad.
Beyond what we’ve just detailed, little else has changed in this revised 2024MY BYD Atto 3 Standard Range model. Much of what we saw in the previous iteration remains, including the 17-inch wheels, all-LED and adaptive headlights, LED taillights, panoramic sunroof, and more.

The new Cosmos Black exterior paint also comes matched exclusively with a new Black/Dark Blue interior colour motif. This interior colour option is also available for the existing grey exterior paint option.

New in the cabin are the larger 15.6-inch rotating infotainment screen. This enhanced 2024MY version also sees other additions such as a wireless charging pad and multi-colour cabin ambient lighting suite.
The same applies to safety with his revised model continuing to offer six airbags, ABS with ESP and TCS, hill-descent control (HDC), 360-degree parking sensors and camera, and auto-hold brake function.
Retained too is the Atto 3’s full-swing of active driver assistance (ADAS) features that include adaptive cruise control with stop-go function, autonomous emergency braking, forward- and rear-collision warnings, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, amongst many.

Orders can now be placed for the enhanced 2024 BYD Atto 3 Standard Range, which commands an RM149,800 price tag sans insurance.
As for price, the enhanced new BYD Atto 3 Standard Range commands RM149,800 sans insurance. Included in said figure is a 6-year or 150,000 KM warranty plus an 8-year or 160,000 KM EV battery warranty, and an 8-year or 150,000 KM EV component warranty.
Like before, BYD SD Motors will also offer p both the Standard or Plus service package options. The former is priced from RM1,688 to RM4,888, covering between 3-year or 60,000 KM right up to 8-year or 160,000 KM. The latter, which includes more service items, is offered in either 6-years,120,000 KM or 8-year, 160,000 KM options priced at RM11,688 and RM17,688 each.
