Launched: Ford Ranger XLT Plus Special Edition – Just 300 Units, RM143,888 Each

Available for a limited time only is the new Ford Ranger XLT Plus Special Edition.
Following the stellar reception of the Ford Ranger Stormtrak limited edition special launched back in May this year, Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) Ford today announced the availability of yet another special limited-run offering based on its best-selling Ranger pick-up truck.
Unlike the Stormtrak, which was loosely based on the range-topping Wildtrak guise, the new Ford Ranger XLT Plus Special Edition revealed by SDAC Ford today has more humble roots. If you haven’t already guessed it, this special is based on the entry-level XLT Plus guise of the Ranger instead.

In this latest special edition, it features exterior enhancements in the form of Matte Black wheel arches, as well as matte-finished decals on the doors and hood.
Setting this special apart from the more utilitarian model it underpins are a slew of accessories SDAC laced it with. Key highlights include Matte Black-painted fender flares for each wheel well, which are matched with Matte Black-painted sports bar for the flatbed.
The exterior’s rugged enhancement continue with a sporty touch through the addition of matte-finished decals in both the doors and the bonnet. Additionally, this special comes in either Absolute Black or Meteor Grey exterior paint options.

Also unique to this special is a Matte Black sportsbar primed in the flatbed. Additionally, this special only comes in Absolute Black or Meteor Grey exterior paint.
That aside, it appears this special retains the XLT Plus variant’s signature chrome grille, LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels.
On board, the Ranger XLT Plus Special Edition sees its cabin gaining with LED backlit scuff plates primed in the door sills. There’s also new pull-out cupholders added into the dash that offers increased practicality. In short, changes on board are equally as subtle as the exterior’s.

Apart from these cosmetic enhancements, the Ford Ranger XLT Plus Special Edition remains mechanically unchanged from the XLT Plus guise it underpins. As a refresher, the XLT Plus adopts Ford’s signature 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel mill that outputs 207 HP and 500 NM.
Said mill is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission plus a full-blown 4x4 driveline to manage the aforementioned mill’s outputs. Beyond which, specifications remain unchanged in this new special variant from the XLT Plus guise it is based on.
Key standard equipment primed include dual-zone climate control, digital instrument display, as well as a sizeable 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display that also offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Just 300 units of the Ford Ranger XLT Plus Special Edition are up for grabs, each priced from RM143,888. Additionally, the first 20 customers to book one online benefit with a RM3,000 fuel voucher reward.
SDAC Ford will offer just 300 units of the Ford Ranger XLT Plus Special Edition, each priced at RM143,888 in Peninsular Malaysia, and at RM149,388 in Sabah and Sarawak.
