Launched: G60 BMW 520i M Sport CKD – RM349,800

The G60-gen BMW 5 Series gets a new 520i M Sport CKD variant in Malaysia, priced at RM349,800 on-the-road.
BMW Group Malaysia has expanded its G60-gen 5 Series lineup today by introducing the new variant, the BMW 520i M Sport. Locally-assembled (CKD) at the brand’s Kulim production facility, this new variant of the 5 Series is essentially the sportier version of the baseline 520i CKD model launched earlier this year.

The sportiness comes in the form of the M Sport package, which comes standard to this model as its name suggests. This styling package adds several M Sport parts, such as the BMW Iconic Glow LED that surrounds its signature kidney front grille, the M high gloss shadowline trims, M Sport badges on the front fenders, and the 19-inch M light alloy wheels with double-spoke style finished in 935 M Bicolour hue.

Speaking of hue, the 520i M Sport CKD is offered in four colourways, namely Black Sapphire Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, Oxide Grey Metallic, and Cape York Green Metallic.
The M Sport treatment continues as we get inside the 520i M Sport’s cabin, with the model featuring M Sport parts such as the M anthracite headliner, M accents in dark chrome, several aluminium rhombicle trims, plus an M Sport design 3-spoke leather steering wheel. Tech amenities for the 520i M Sport mirror other variants of the 5 Series, which include things like the BMW Curved Display comprising a 12.3-inch instrument display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Harman Kardon premium HiFi system, a wireless charging pad, and more.

Elsewhere, the 520i M Sport is offered in two upholstery options, namely the Veganza Perforated and Quilted Black, as well as the Veganza Perforated and Quilted Espresso Brown.

The 520i M Sport is powered by the same turbo MHEV powertrain setup used on the standard 520i model.
And just like the non-M Sport 520i, the 520i M Sport is also powered by a turbo petrol mild hybrid (MHEV) powertrain setup that comprises a tried-and-tested 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol mill that hooks up to a 48-volt integrated starter-generator (ISG). This MHEV setup sends 208 PS (153 kW) and 330 NM of power to the rear wheels (RWD) via an 8-speed automatic transmission, allowing a 0-100 KM/H sprint to be completed in 7.5 seconds and a V-Max of 230 KM/H.
Typical of any modern BMW car, the 520i M Sport is brimmed with both active and passive safety features, with the former coming in the form of the BMW Driving Assistance Plus package. This active safety package adds several ADAS functions, such as Active Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go function, Steering and Lane Control Assistant (LCA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and many more. Also included as standard is the Parking Assistant Plus.

Now available for booking, the all-new G60 BMW 520i M Sport CKD is retailed at RM349,800 on-the-road, with said price inclusive of a 2-year standard vehicle warranty and a complimentary MW Group Malaysia Premium Ownership experience, which includes the BMW Roadside Assistance & Accident Hotline as well as the BMW Service Online.
For an extra RM26,900, customers can opt for the BMW Service & Repair Inclusive package, which consists of a 5-year extended warranty and service package.
