Special ‘EV’ Number Plate Series For EVs Now Available Via JPJeBid
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has launched a new special EV series number plate (EV 1 to EV 9999) that is currently up for bid.
The bidding will run for five days, ending at 10 p.m. on September 13. The results will be released the following day.
However, at the time of writing, EV1 is not available for bidding because it has been reserved by a VVIP owner, who will be announced soon, according to transport minister Anthony Loke at the JPJePlate launch in Cyberjaya.

It is important to note that, in contrast to regular state and other special number plate series, EV plates are only intended for registration on fully electric vehicles. JPJ also reminds bidders that winning bids are final and that they will not be refunded.
They also state that they will not entertain any appeals pertaining to this or asking the authorities to permit the use of an EV plate on a non-EV.
