Launched: Fourth-Gen MINI Cooper S 5-Door – Est. From RM293,000

MINI Malaysia (BMW Group Malaysia) also announced the availability of the latest-gen MINI Cooper S 5-Door (chassis code: F66) earlier today besides the new and all-electric Aceman.
Besides the new and all-electric Aceman crossover, MINI Malaysia (BMW Group Malaysia) also expanded its local line-up by announcing the availability of the new fourth-generation MINI 5-Door locally in peppy Cooper S guise earlier today as well.
As a refresher, the latest-gen 5-Door (chassis code: F66) version of the latest fourth-gen MINI hatch debuted globally back in June this year. Like before, this variant brings with it a pair of extra doors plus a larger and more practical cabin featuring a traditional five-seat layout.

The stretched body and wheelbase length of this new 5-Door variant sees it offer up a more spacious cabin plus a larger boot, and both are meant to position this variant as the more practical choice versus the tradition 3-Door hatch variant.
At 4,036 MM long with 2,567 MM wheelbase, this 5-Door variant sees both its length and wheelbase figures stretched by 160 MM and 72 MM respectively. Against its previous-gen predecessor, this latest iteration also sits 172 MM longer with a 72 MM wheelbase stretch too.
Altogether, this sees the 2024 MINI Cooper S 5-Door offer up 38 MM more rear legroom, plus a 65-litre bump in standard boot space to 275 litres. Take note though that the latter can be expanded further thanks to foldable rear seats as well.

As reported, neither an all-electric (EV) or a manual transmission versions of the 5-Door are planned. In Cooper S guise, it employs a familiar 2.0-litre -4-cyl turbo plus 7-speed DCT automatic and FWD setup, the former offering peppy 201 HP and 300 NM outputs.
As reported prior, the 5-Door version will see no all-electric (EV) twin readied, nor will it see a manual transmission option offered up as well. In Cooper S guise, this variant employs a familiar 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbo petrol lump that drives the front wheels with 201 HP and 300 NM.
Said mill is paired with a 7-speed DCT automatic box and sees 0-100 KM/H dashes done in 6.8 secs whilst enroute towards a claimed 242 KM/H V-Max. In contrast, the Cooper S 5-Door is only slightly slower than the regular MINI Cooper S 3-Door hatch that does 0-100 KM/H in just 6.6 secs.

Much of the signature aesthetic design touches seen in the latest-gen 3-Door variant are retained, and the MINI Cooper S 5-Door sees four exterior paint options available - Chilli Red, Icy Sunshine Blue, Legend Grey and Nanuq White.
Aesthetically, the 5-Door version retains much of the signature quirks and new sharp-angled, minimalist design seen in the 3-Door version. Round LED headlights flank a signature black-framed octagonal grille whilst rolling stock comes in the of 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
Retained too are the signature MINI LED taillight cluster offering three selectable light signatures, bee-sting antenna, as well as the horizontal black handle and contrasting roof paint hue. Regarding colours, the MINI Cooper S 5-Door sees four exterior paintjob choices available.

On board, the MINI Cooper S 5-Door also rocks the same new minimalist cabin design motif featuring a large central 240 MM OLED touchscreen display powered by the latest MINI OS9.
On board, MINI Cooper S 5-Door also continues to rock the same new minimalist interior design motif lined with two-tone fabric upholstery made from recycled polyester. The seats, on the other hand, are wrapped in vegan leather instead.
Moving on to tech and, like the Aceman, the MINI Cooper S 5-Door boasts a Harman Kardon premium audio suite lining its cabin, as well as MINI’s signature massive central 240 MM OLED round display screen powered using MINI OS9.

Typical of MINI, the new Cooper S 5-Door is also laced with plenty of ADAS features plus a premium Harman Kardon audio suite amongst its array of standard features.
In terms of driving assistance (ADAS) features, this stretched-out hatch packs a slew of which. Highlights include Lane Change and Departure Warnings, Front Collision and Rear Crossing Traffic, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Control Assistant, and Speed Limit Assist.
Included too is the Parking Assistant Plus suite with Remote 3D View and Reversing Assistant up to 50 meters. All these high-tech bits come on top of core basics that also includes ISOFIC childseat anchors and more.

Orders can now be placed at authorised dealer nationwide where it commands an estimated starting price of RM293,000.
