MyJPJ App Login Via MyDigital ID Starting Oct 10
![]()
If you launch your MyJPJ app now, a notification will pop-up informing users that starting Oct 10, access to the app will only be possible through the MyDigital ID single sign-on system.
According to the app’s latest update, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) urges users to register with MyDigital ID before said date to avoid potential “sign-in difficulties.”
However, when we at Carz.com.my spent hours attempting to register on the MyDigital ID system, the furthest we managed to get was uploading snapshots of our identification card and a selfie before the system froze.

This leaves us wondering: why implement a single sign-on system for MyJPJ without adopting a dual login option, as seen in the MySejahtera app offering more flexibility.
MyDigital ID Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation’s Mimos Berhad, is responsible for developing and operating the MyDigital ID app—a platform currently limited to Malaysians.

The shift to MyDigital ID presents a real challenge, especially for users who no longer possess physical copies of their vehicle road tax (LKM) or driving licences. To complicate matters, users are now confronted with hurdles from the same agencies that introduced “paperless” systems unable to handle data and traffic effectively..
For many users, the app is the primary or sole proof of their road tax and licence validity, especially since the Transport Ministry discontinued the requirement for vehicle owners to display road tax stickers.

Now although the pop-up notification doesn’t explicitly say that MyDigital ID will be the only way to log in, the language strongly suggests that it could be post-October 10th.
With only nine days left before the change, we strongly urge the Transport Department (JPJ) to reconsider this move and provide alternative login options, such as the current JPJeID method.
This would help avoid potential issues for users and enforcement officers during roadblocks. It’s also important to note that JPJeID will still be required for logging in to JPJ’s websites and kiosks.
