No Specific deadline For B1,B2 Licence Conversion
The Road Transport Department (JPJ) stated that there is no set date for holders of B2 and B1 licences to convert to Class B licence.
Its director-general, Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, stated in a statement that there was no rush and that driving schools have been instructed to accept all applications from applicants. "Selected driving institutes have been experiencing a high number of registrations for the special transition programme from Class B2 and B1 to Class B.

"Eligible Class B2 and B1 licence holders are advised not to rush when registering for this programme, as it does not have a specific expiry date or time limit," he said.
In order to handle the increased registrations, he assured that the list of driving schools would be updated periodically.
Regarding another issue, he said that there was a system error in the program's eligibility status check and that improvements and immediate corrective action had been put in place.
"Class B2 and B1 licence holders, who previously received the 'Non-Malaysian Citizens are Not Eligible' message are advised to log out and log back into the MyJPJ application to recheck their eligibility status under the 'Eligibility Check'," he said.
JPJ announced earlier that there are three essential requirements for the upgrade, which will come at a cost of RM 160 to cover registration and insurance for the applicant, a two-hour conversion and familiarisation course.
The fee also covers vehicle rental and use of a training course, as well as the JPJ test fee. -full-(1)-full_normal.jpg)
