Nissan Kicks e-Power Bookings Opened With Sub-RM130,000 Estimate Price
The new and electrified Nissan Kicks e-Power is now opened for bookings, says brand assemblers and distributors ETCM.
Nissan brand assemblers and distributors Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has officially opened up the order books for its newest metal, by which we mean the Nissan Kicks e-Power electrified B-SUV offering.
In its press release, ETCM says bookings can now be placed at authorised showrooms and dealerships now where it commands an estimated price below RM130,000. The firm also confirmed plans to officially launch the model by Dec, likely during the upcoming KLIMS 2024 show.
As for price, ETCM announced that the Kicks e-Power will command a estimated figure below RM130,000.
As a refresher, the Kicks e-Power is the first Nissan model to go on sale locally featuring the Japanese automaker’s novel new e-Power electrified powertrain tech. It employs both a traditional combustion (ICE) mill and an e-motor system to form an extended-range/range-extended EV (EREV/REEV).
Two fully imported (CBU) variants will be offered, those being a base VL and a range-topping VLT. We’ve detailed both through this past feature of ours, but do note that only the VLT range-topper comes laced with a slew of ADAS features that earned the nameplate a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating.
Shared across both is the e-Power EREV/REEV powertrain setup that consists of a 1.2-litre 3-cyl petrol mill and an e-motor system with a compact 2.1 kWh battery pack.
Shared across both is the EREV/REEV powertrain mentioned, which consists of a 1.2-litre 3-cyl petrol mill serving as a charging generator juicing a front-mounted e-motor plus compact 2.1 kWh battery pack that drives the front wheels with 129 PS and 280 NM.
Altogether, the powertrain enables the Kicks to despatch 0-100 KM/H sprints in just 9.5 secs. However, the powertrain’s delivery of EV-like perks sans range anxieties or the need and hassle to plug in and charge stands as a key highlight.
Through the latter, the Kicks e-Power also boasts segment-leading fuel efficiency figures, with Nissan touting ultra-frugal consumption figures of 21.7 KM/litre and a maximum travel range of up to 900 KM with each full fill-up of its 41-litre fuel tank.
ETCM remains set to officially launch the Kicks e-Power next month in Dec, and this is likely to occur during the upcoming KLIMS 2024 show.
ETCM had also disclosed the after-sales package it will offer the Kicks e-Power with. It includes a five-year or 100,000 KM base vehicle warranty, followed by separate 8-year or 160,000 KM coverages for the high-voltage battery pack, inverter, ECU and e-motor.
