Over 90% Of MyLesen Participants Obtained Licences
According to Transport Minister Anthony Loke, over 90% of the 35,000 participants in the MyLesen program have finished their training and received their driver's licenses thus far, as reported by Bernama.
Loke said that the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has received over 130,000 applications for this program. However, only a small percentage of these applications are eligible to participate after being screened in accordance with the requirements.
The minister further stated that MyLesen will continue next year, aiming to help more B40 groups and young people get their driver's licenses. Transport ministry will seek out additional ways to generate funding for the program beyond the support offered by the government, he added.
“The MyLesen programme is one of the government’s efforts to continuously benefit the target groups in the country. Apart from helping the target groups improve their economy and income, this programme can also cultivate the community to drive vehicles legally according to the law and produce competent motorcyclists,” he said.
During the Budget 2025 tabling, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim declared that the government would keep helping 15,000 underprivileged youths, including secondary school students, college students, and young people seeking employment to obtain motorcycle licenses.
