Proton Named Top Automotive Employer At M100 Awards
Malaysia's 100 Leading Graduate Employers 2024 Awards (M100) have named national automaker Proton the fastest-moving employer and the automotive industry's sector winner for the first time, indicating Proton's standing as the top employer of choice for recent graduates in the field.
The local automaker defeated two other OEMs to win the top spot in the automotive industry category in this 17th edition of the award. The company also received the Fastest Moving Employer Award for moving up the most ranks in the M100 rankings, moving from 86th in 2023 to 44th this year.

Proton's success can be attributed primarily to its efforts to cultivate new talent through the PROTON Young Talents (PYT) program, which was introduced in 2018 aimed to recruit promising recent graduates and train the next generation of talented professionals and leaders to propel innovation and expansion within the company.
Of the 210 members of the current PYT cohort, 72% have a technical background, while 28% come from non-technical sectors. Over the last seven years, a record 81% retention rate has been maintained, with 259 PYT graduates engaged to far, including 110 this year.
