Launched: Nissan Kicks e-Power - 2 Variants From RM113,800

Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has officially launched the Nissan Kicks e-Power earlier today at the KLIMS 2024. Two fully imported (CBU) variants are available for the Malaysian market: the VL at RM113,800 and the range-topping VLT at RM121,800. There is also a 2-tone VLT variant at RM125,800. ETCM further detailed that five (5) more new e-Power models will be launched in the coming three (3) years.

The Kicks e-Power features Nissan’s novel extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain. Unlike traditional hybrids, the system employs a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine solely as a generator to charge a compact 2.1 kWh battery pack.

The battery powers a front-mounted electric motor, producing 129 PS and a robust 280 Nm of torque, which drives the front wheels. This setup allows the Kicks e-Power to deliver EV-like performance and refinement while eliminating range anxiety, achieving a frugal claimed fuel consumption of 21.7 km/l and a maximum travel range of up to 900 km with a full 41-liter fuel tank.
The hybrid powertrain enables the Kicks e-Power to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a respectable 9.5 seconds, making it both efficient and spirited.

While both variants share the same powertrain, the VLT variant stands out with a host of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that include features like Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, and Blind Spot Intervention. These features have earned the Kicks e-Power a coveted 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.

In terms of design, the Kicks e-Power offered in Malaysia is not the latest 2nd-gen variant and sports the signature 1st-gen bold and contemporary styling, highlighted by a V-Motion grille, floating roof, and LED lighting elements.

Inside, the cabin is equipped with a 7” digital instrument cluster, an 8” touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and spacious seating enhanced with Nissan’s Zero Gravity design for maximum comfort.

ETCM is also offering buyers a five-year or 100,000 km base vehicle warranty alongside a separate eight-year or 160,000 km coverage for critical e-Power components such as the high-voltage battery pack, inverter, ECU, and e-motor.
500 Early Bird buyers will also receive a RM5,000 rebate and and extra 2-year EV Battery and component warranty.
