This was stated by Federal Territories Minister Dr. Zaliha Mustafa following an inspection of the flash flood-affected Presint 11 in the administrative capital.

After an hour or so of intense rain, the flash flood happened at around 5 p.m., making several routes unusable for light vehicles. By 5:30 p.m., the floodwaters had subsided after firefighters were able to reroute them and unclog clogged drains.
Additionally, Zaliha directed Putrajaya Corporation to establish a flood alert system with a siren to advise locals and others of potential flooding and to move their cars. She also requested that the irrigation and drainage agency inspect the region's drainage infrastructure to make sure it could withstand significant rainfall.

Due to financial limitations, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof stated in Parliament on Thursday that the federal government will make every effort to lessen the frequency of floods in the nation.

Fadillah cited a Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) research to claim that government funding falls short of the RM392 billion required to implement 365 flood prevention projects.

In response to Klang MP Ganabatirau Veraman, Fadillah, who is also the minister of energy transition and water transformation, stated that flood mitigation alone costs RM170 billion out of that sum.
