VinFast to Build 100,000 EV Charging Stations in Indonesia

V-GREEN, a VinFast subsidiary, has partnered with Prime Group to establish a network of charging stations for VinFast electric cars (EVs) throughout Indonesia. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) demonstrates growing faith in V-GREEN and VinFast's commitment to sustainable mobility.
The alliance intends to build about 100,000 VinFast charging stations across Indonesia over the next three years, with an investment total of up to USD 1.2 billion (RM 5.3 billion). The initial phase will focus on big cities like Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bali.

The project is set to commence in January 2025, with several stations expected to be operational by the end of that year.

According to the MoU, Prime Group will offer financial backing and a global network to assist infrastructure development, while V-Green will undertake market research and choose the best locations for charging stations.
Mr Tamer Wagih Salem, Chairman of Prime Group, said, "We are excited to partner with V-Green to unlock Indonesia's green transportation potential, which we see as one of Southeast Asia's most promising markets."

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duong, CEO of V-Green, further added, "This collaboration creates new opportunities to expand our global EV charging network and build a robust electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia."
V-Green, founded by VinFast's Pham Nhat Vuong, is dedicated to expanding EV infrastructure as part of its larger aim of fostering a sustainable ecology. The MoU with Prime Group is a significant step forward in VinFast's worldwide expansion plan, with Indonesia playing a major role.
VinFast Indonesia has already launched two EV vehicles, the VF e34 and the VF 5, and is quickly expanding its dealer network. In addition, the business has begun construction on an assembly factory in Subang, West Java, to improve manufacturing capacity and satisfy increased demand for EVs.
