61 Proton e.MAS 7 Set To Lead ASEAN 2025 Fleet

Following Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement, the Proton e.MAS 7 has been named as the official vehicle for the upcoming ASEAN - Malaysia Chairmanship 2025.
Adding to which, Proton deputy CEO Roslan Abdullah also recently confirmed that a total of 61 units of the e.MAS 7, which was launched back in Dec 2024, will be used to transport key delegations during the event.

He further added that an additional 194 units of the Proton X70 will be deployed, and that all vehicles are expected to be delivered by end of this month.
“These vehicles will be used to transport individuals holding high-ranking and important positions during the ASEAN Chairmanship 2025,” Roslan said at the launch of the Proton e.MAS 7 showroom at EON Glenmarie.
Last month, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad stated, while the e.MAS 7 has been selected as the official car, it won’t be the only electric vehicle (EV) used for the event.

The e.MAS 7 will primarily serve ministerial support staff and senior officers. Meanwhile, heads of state and government officials are expected to use premium EVs like the BMW i7, Mercedes-Benz EQS, or other models requested by the delegates.
Proton is committed to showcasing its EV capabilities, which align with one of the meeting's key agendas being advancing green and carbon-free technology.

The Prime Minister emphasized that selecting the Proton e.MAS 7 highlights the government’s support for Proton’s efforts in producing Malaysia’s first electric car.
Malaysia will officially assume the ASEAN Chairmanship on January 1, 2025, with the theme "Inclusion and Sustainability," reflecting the nation’s vision of a united and prosperous ASEAN.
