JPJ Ops Sepadu: Over 2,300 Vehicles Inspected, 340 Notices Issued

JPJ WPKL conducted Ops Sepadu last weekend in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city centre on Saturday evening.
Ahead of the festive Chinese New Year celebrations and holidays, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) conducted a major operation in the nation’s capital last weekend.
Called Ops Sepadu, the operation was carried out on Saturday evening by enforcers from the department’s Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (WPKL) office. In its official Facebook statement, the department noted that up to 2,380 vehicles were inspected during said operation held on Saturday night.

From which, a total of 340 notices were issued over various offences. The most common offence recorded here included driving without a valid driving licence, driving with an expired road tax, driving without valid insurance coverage, and more.

“In line with the government’s road safety campaign, the operation aims to raise public awareness, particularly during the upcoming festive season,” explained JPJ WPKL director Hamidi Adam to press shortly after concluding the operation on Saturday evening.

Hamidi adds that the operation detailed will continue until Feb 9 in light of the upcoming Chinese New Year festivities.
