BHPetrol officially entered the race towards electrification with the launch of its first EV charging station at BHPetrol Jalan Genting Klang 1, established in partnership with TNB Electron.

This station features a 200kW DC charging unit equipped with two nozzles that can dynamically adjust output depending on the vehicle’s state of charge and the number of vehicles connected.

According to BHPetrol CEO, Ir. Azizul Azily Ahmad, the Jalan Genting Klang facility is the first of three EV charging stations planned at BHPetrol locations. Two more stations are in various stages of completion at BHPetrol Karak – KL and BHPetrol Ladang Bikam Northbound. All locations will feature the same 200 kW DC charging setup.

The charging rate for the BHPetrol TNB Electron DC facility is set at RM1.50/kWh and will be accessible via the Go-To U App.

Additionally, Ir. Azizul announced that BHPetrol will collaborate with two more charge point operators (CPOs), in addition to TNB Electron, to accelerate the expansion of EV charging stations across the country.

Meanwhile, Datuk Ir. Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan, CEO of TNB, shared that the TNB Electron charging facility at BHPetrol Jalan Genting Klang 1 is expected to deliver 1,200 MWh of charging energy over the next five years, reducing carbon emissions by an estimated 460 metric tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
