GWM Malaysia has confirmed that the sporty Ora Good Cat GT will be making its Malaysian debut soon.

GWM Malaysia has revealed that the sportier version of its EV hatchback, the Ora Good Cat GT, will be making its local debut soon. This was confirmed by the Chinese automaker during a special media session last night, where the upcoming GWM Tank 500 HEV was also being previewed ahead of its Malaysia Autoshow 2025 debut.

Thai-spec GWM Ora Good Cat GT

As its ‘GT’ moniker suggests, the Ora Good Cat GT is essentially a specced-up version of the standard Ora Good Cat compact EV hatch, where it features some sporty parts and upgrades. Key exterior highlights include a more aggressive front bumper, carbon fibre-finished side skirts and flared-out wheel arches, a special GT nameplate, a more prominent rear spoiler, a rear diffuser, and larger 18-inch alloy wheels.

Special for the Thai-spec Good Cat GT are several contrasting yellow trims around the exterior, including on its side mirror caps, brake callipers, the rear spoiler, as well as both the front and rear bumpers.

The yellow trim goes on inside the Good Cat GT, as both the front dash and the sporty front seats are imbued in the same yellow hue as the exterior, plus a ‘GT’ logo on the headrests. Other key features primed here include a 10.25-inch touch infotainment screen, massage and ventilation functions for the front seats, suede and leather combination upholstery, and many more.

In the Thai market, the sporty Good Cat GT gets a more potent single FWD motor setup rated at 169 HP (126 kW) and 250 NM. In comparison, the standard Good Cat’s FWD motor setup is only rated at 141 HP (105 kW) and 210 NM. Juice is provided by a 57.7-kWh LFP battery pack that grants the Good Cat GT up to 460 KM of NEDC range.

For reference, the Malaysian-spec Good Cat comes in two battery options, namely the 47.8-kWh LFP unit for the baseline 400 Pro model that is good for up to 400 KM of NEDC range and a larger 63.1-kWh NMC unit for the top-spec 500 Pro model, granting it up to 500 KM of NEDC range.
