Following the state visit by Chinese president Xi Jinping to Malaysia, which is set to commence today, a slew of road restrictions have been implemented, including those near KLIA and Putrajaya, as well as highways to and from KL and main city routes.

For air travelers, there will be traffic closures surrounding KLIA and the ELITE Highway today and April 17. Plan your route ahead of time because there will be heavy traffic in the surrounding neighborhoods.

KLIA Transit service frequency will increase to every 15 minutes between KL Sentral and KLIA to manage the expected higher passenger numbers due to road restrictions. This adjusted schedule will be in effect from 3 PM to 8 PM today and on April 17. Additionally, on Thursday, trains will operate every 15 minutes from 6 AM to 11 AM to accommodate the morning rush.
