Lorry Operator's License Revoked After Fatal FRU Truck Crash
The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) has revoked the operator license of Tashveen Trading, owner of the truck involved in the fatal collision on Jalan Chikus–Sungai Lampam that killed nine Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) members earlier this month.
“With the cancellation of this operator licence, the company is no longer permitted to operate or provide services using any vehicle previously registered under the licence,” APAD said, adding that the revocation is effective May 29, 2025.
Tashveen Trading was found to have committed multiple significant safety violations as a result of the agency's investigations.
These included hauling cargo not permitted by its permit, utilising a Global Positioning System (GPS) that was either non-functional or expired, disregarding general road user safety, and not adhering to the Industry Code of Practice for Safety (ICOP).
To prevent further incidents that could lead to license revocation, APAD also urges all licensed operators to consistently adhere strictly to their permit conditions.
“APAD wishes to stress its firm stance of zero tolerance towards any dangerous operation of land public transport vehicles that result in accidents or pose a threat to road users,” the agency stated.
The deadly collision occurred at 8:50 a.m. on May 13 and involved a FRU vehicle carrying 18 FRU personnel from Unit 5 based in Ipoh. The incident, involving a lorry delivering stones, resulted in nine deaths, two major injuries, and seven more hospitalised.
