Atto 2 Offers High-Rise Dwellers P.UP Mobile Charging

The BYD Atto 2 has officially arrived in Malaysia, with a launch price of RM100,000. Sime Motors is positioning it as more than just an affordable electric vehicle (EV), but a lifestyle offering tailored for the younger generation.
This is evident through the fact that Atto 2 buyers living in high-rise homes will get bundled with P.UP doorstep EV charging from Sime Motors.

“We’re removing major barriers for easy EV ownership with flexible payment plans and a partnership with Power Up (P.UP), the first in the industry to offer mobile EV charging delivered right to your doorstep,” said Andrew Basham, MD of Sime Motors, earlier today.

This offering is particularly aimed at buyers living in high-rise properties, where home wallbox charger installations are often not feasible. For selected areas, Atto 2 buyers will receive the Sime Platinum 4+ Package by P.UP instead of a wall-box.

The 12-month subscription includes four mobile charging sessions per month (up to 80% SOC), two full car washes, and two free EV rescue services annually.
The package is based on P.UP’s RM348/month plan, typically offered for EVs with 45–60 kWh batteries. It is being bundled exclusively for high-rise buyers of the Atto 2, and as of now, there is no official word on whether this P.UP service will be extended to new buyers of other BYD models sold by Sime Motors Malaysia.

The mobile charging service is the result of a partnership between Sime Darby and Singapore-based startup P.UP, which works with Nazamax for operations in Malaysia. While Power Up and Nazamax’s collaboration was announced in late 2023, the service only launched in Sept 2024, beginning in Penang with two mobile vans equipped with 50 kWh DC fast chargers.
For EVs with larger batteries, P.UP also offers a RM1,037/month plan covering up to eight mobile charging sessions, four premium car washes with tire shine, and a low energy rate of RM1.47 per kWh.

Not an Atto 2 buyer but interested in giving this service a try? Ad-hoc charging service is also available at RM1.70 per kWh, plus a RM40 service fee. Optional add-ons include car washing (RM20), tire shine (RM10), and vacuuming (RM15) during charging. Each session is capped at 80% SOC to optimise time and energy delivery.
During the Atto 2 launch, P.UP has also unveiled mobile charging trucks with varying capacities, 64 kW, 81 kW and 120 kW with expectations for broader deployment in future phases.
