Exeed Exlantis E05 EREV Unveiled Ahead of Munich Debut

Previewed in China ahead of its Munich Motor Show debut is the new Exeed Exlantix E05 mid-size EREV SUV.
Chery’s Exeed luxury sub-brand has just released the first official images of its new midsize SUV, the Exeed Exlantix E05. This new range-extender (EREV) SUV is scheduled to make its global debut at the upcoming Munich Motor Show, set to take place later in September this year.

Thanks to these official images, we can see that the E05 boasts a pretty sleek look, featuring several design cues inspired or derived from other popular SUVs and EV crossovers out there. Up front, the E05 gets a closed face with step-design LED headlights, plus a trapezoidal front grille and a chrome-plated front bumper.

From the side, the E05 features a pretty sleek roofline that drops downwards from the B-pillars, while its overall side part seems to be pretty standard and simple, featuring non-retractable, traditional door handles, several wheel options ranging from 18 to 20 inches, and chrome window surround trims.
At the rear, this midsize SUV gets a pretty typical Chinese SUV look, no thanks to its full-width LED taillights, accompanied by a roof-mounted spoiler. Dimension-wise, the E05 spans 4,780 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, 1,725 mm tall, and with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm.
As of now, Exeed has yet to publish any images of the E05’s interior, but we can expect it to get a pretty lavish and tech-heavy cabin setup just like any other Exeed model.

Underpinning Chery’s E0X platform, the upcoming Exlantix E05 will be available with an EREV powertrain setup, featuring a 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbo-petrol engine rated at 154 hp and an electric motor setup, although no details were shared about the latter for now.
According to CarNewsChina, the E05 will be equipped with a 32.659-kWh LFP-type battery pack that is good enough to provide it with an EV-only range of 165 km. Again, details about its powertrain are scarce for now, so our best bet is to wait until its global debut in Munich later in Sept.

Keen eyes will notice that the E05 is equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, thus indicating some high degree of autonomous driving capabilities for this EREV SUV. Said LiDAR unit is accompanied by 12 radar sensors, which make up the Horizon Robotics’ HSD (Horizon Super Drive) ADAS suite, where the company claims it can support both highway and urban navigation-on-autopilot (NOA).
The HSD setup will also be integrated into Chery’s Falcon assisted driving solution, which is available in three tiers—Falcon 500 focuses on highway NOA and parking assist, Falcon 700 adds urban NOA on top of the Falcon 500, and Falcon 900 targets level 3 autonomous driving.

As mentioned above, the new Exeed Exlantix E05 EREV will be making its global debut at the Munich Motor Show (also known as the IAA Mobility) later in Sept this year. Given that Chery decides to launch the E05 on a global stage, perhaps there’s a high chance that this EREV SUV will be part of its global product lineup.
