Radical Bentley EXP 15 Concept Previews Marque’s First-Ever EV

The radical new Bentley EXP 15 concept previews the brand’s first EV, featuring design cues inspired by the legendary Speed Six.
Despite recently postponing their EV-only plans, British boutique marque Bentley is still gearing up for its first-ever all-electric model next year by previewing its design language in this new, radical design concept, the Bentley EXP 15. Billed as an “elevated sporting sedan,” the EXP 15 draws inspiration from one of Crewe’s most legendary nameplates, the 1930 Bentley Six Speed.

From the get-go, you’ll immediately notice that the EXP 15 is buckling down to the fastback sedan crossover trend, featuring a sleek coupe-ish roofline and an SUV-style lifted body. According to Bentley Design Director Robin Page, this mixed-up approach is a result of feedback from customers, citing that sedan is “the trickiest segment” because of its constant change.
“Some customers want a classic ‘three-box’ sedan shape, others a ‘one-box’ design, and others again something more elevated. So this was a chance for us to talk to people and get a feeling,” Page elaborates.

That being said, the EXP 15 does feature some interesting design bits beyond its ‘radical’ profile and bodystyle. Up front, the concept gets an Upright Elegance face, featuring a large enclosed grille with lights to mimic the appearance of a traditional grille. The faux front grille is flanked by new vertical headlights, plus a new Bentley emblem and an illuminated hood ornament, both crowning above the grille.

The sleek roofline continues to the tailgate, giving the concept a fastback or coupe crossover look. Unlike the front face, the rear-end design is kept rather clean and simple, featuring extended C-shaped taillights and dual roof-mounted spoilers. What’s also unique about the EXP 15 is its three-door configuration, featuring a single door on the driver’s side as well as two doors on the passenger side.

Although no specific dimensions were shared for now, Bentley does say that the EXP 15 will span more than five metres long, suggesting that it could be smaller than its current flagship saloon, the Flying Spur, which spans 5,316 mm as standard.

The quirky and radical theme continues as we get inside the EXP 15, as it comes with a unique three-seat layout to match its three-door configuration. The front row only gets one seat for the driver, where the passenger side has been replaced by an “innovative in-cabin storage for treasured pets and/or hand luggage.”

Also primed here is an exquisite ‘Wing Gesture’ front dash that can act as a full-width digital display or a veneered wood surface when it is switched off. It features a slim digital instrument cluster snuck behind the three-spoke steering wheel, while the main infotainment unit is described as a “mechanical marvel.” Not to forget, a third display is also present here, located at the front passenger side of the dashboard.

The central console for the EXP 15 extends to the rear seats, featuring a unique switchgear at the front and a control console for the rear passengers, which also houses a built-in refrigerator and a reading lamp.

Speaking of rear passengers, the rear seats can be moved into three positions, namely Standard, Relax, and a Co-Pilot mode that sees the seat moved up alongside the driver. On top of that, the seats can also swivel 45 degrees outwards for easier access.

Bentley has yet to reveal any powertrain or battery details of the EXP 15, although the automaker did concede that the production version will feature “a fully electric, all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrain with a long range and recharging speeds commensurate with the convenience customers have come to expect of a Bentley.”

As mentioned earlier, the production version of the EXP 15 concept will be unveiled sometime later in 2026, where it will be Crewe’s first-ever all-electric creation.
