The government’s new BUDI MADANI RON95 (Budi95) subsidy site officially goes live today, allowing Malaysians to check their eligibility online.

According to Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan in his previous statement, eligibility checks can be made through the official portal at www.budimadani.gov.my, at Budi95 service counters, or via the Setel and CaltexGO apps once MyKad verification is complete.

Users simply need to enter their identity card number to confirm their subsidy entitlement.

The portal will remain a permanent platform. Starting from Sept 30, it will display daily records of petrol usage and the remaining balance under the subsidy quota. Each eligible user is entitled to a maximum of 300 litres per month.

At petrol stations, customers only need to insert their MyKad into the reader at the pump or counter for verification before payment. Transactions can then be completed using cash, credit or debit cards, or e-wallets.

Transaction receipts will clearly show the pump price, the subsidy amount covered by the government, and the final price paid by the consumer, fixed at RM1.99 per litre for all Malaysians.

Any usage beyond the 300-litre monthly quota will be charged at market price, similar to non-Malaysians who will pay RM2.60 per litre.

At present, users are allowed to purchase up to 20 litres without refuelling a vehicle, while those with a Special Permit from the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry may buy more for non-vehicle purposes such as agriculture.

Amir Hamzah also noted that most stations are already equipped with MyKad readers, while several fuel companies also offer eligibility checks through their mobile apps.
