Five Major Roads to Close for Sultan of Selangor Cup 2025
Kuala Lumpur city drivers are advised to plan ahead as five major roads will be closed for the Sultan of Selangor Cup 2025 football match between Selangor and Singapore at Stadium Merdeka on Saturday, 27 September.
Deputy Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamed said the match is scheduled to kick off at 9pm, with road closures and traffic diversions in effect from 2pm until the end of the game.
A total of 115 officers and personnel from the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) will be deployed to manage traffic flow and ensure public safety, particularly for fans attending the match.
“Several road closures and diversions will be implemented in stages along Jalan Maharajalela (Bulatan Merdeka), Jalan Hang Tuah (entry towards Jalan Hang Jebat), Jalan Hang Jebat, Jalan Stadium, and Jalan Merdeka,” he said.
He advised road users to plan their journeys in advance and follow all traffic signs and instructions from police personnel on duty.
Mohamed Usuf also encouraged the public to use public transport when heading to Stadium Merdeka to help reduce congestion in the city centre.
For further information, members of the public can contact the Kuala Lumpur Police hotline at 03-21159999, the KL JSPT operations room at 03-20260267 / 0269, or visit the nearest police station.
