Sixth-Gen Subaru Forester Teased, Bookings Now Opened
Official teaser of the new sixth-gen Subaru Forester posted on soc-med by Motor Image last weekend.

Official Subaru importers and distributors Motor Image Malaysia Sdn Bhd took to social media last weekend and teased the new sixth generation Subaru Forester. From which, it appears that the firm is possibly gearing up to launch it in Malaysia very soon.
Motor Image didn’t disclose much in said social posting, but the firm’s newly established preview website did present a lot of technical details – things we already covered from said latest-gen model’s global debut back in Nov 2023.
"Pre-sales" (bookings) are now opened locally for the new sixth-gen C-SUV from Subaru, though official prices remain undisclosed for now.

Besides that, the firm also held an exclusive early customer preview at its flagship Subaru Petaling Jaya showroom on Sunday, Sept 21. Following which, the firm confirmed plans to preview the model further at selected showrooms from Sept 27 onwards.
Concurrently, “pre-sales” –read: bookings – are now opened, though official prices remain undisclosed for now. Expect it to command a price figure close to what its pre-facelifted predecessor held – from RM164,288.
Speaking of said predecessor, it appears that Motor Image is also offering it with a special clearance deal that includes savings of up to RM27,000. Included too is a 5-year comprehensive maintenance package.

Back to the new sixth-gen successor teased, it now rides on an enhanced Subaru Global Platform base with up to 10% increased torsional rigidity. Visually, the new Forester also rocks a new design featuring a ‘floating roof’ plus new head- and taillights to match.
In terms of size, the new Forester has also grown slightly on all fronts. It now sits 31 MM longer at 4,656 MM and 14 MM wider at 1,829 MM. What continues unchanged are both its 1,730 MM height and 2,670 MM wheelbase.

The new sixth-gen Forester rocks an all-new design featuring a 'floating roof' look matched with new head- and taillights. In terms of size, it's now slightly longer and wider too.

On board, the dash design mirrors what’s seen in current contemporary Subaru models. It features a familiar steering wheel and gear selector design plus a portrait oriented central infotainment touchscreen with integrated climate control interface.
Additionally, from the preview website mentioned, it appears Malaysia-bound new sixth-gen Subaru Forester units will feature a familiar combustion (ICE) powertrain package – specifically a 2.5-litre ‘Boxer’ flat 4-cyl petrol mill outputting 182 hp and 247 Nm.

For Malaysia, the sixth-gen Forester is expected to come powered using Subaru's signature 2.5-litre 'Boxer' flat 4-cyl mill paired with its Lineartronic CVT box and symmetrical AWD.
On board, the sixth-gen Subaru Forester also rocks an updated dash design featuring a massive portrait-oriented central touchscreen with integrated climate control interface.

Naturally, the new sixth-gen Subaru Forester will also see said mill get paired with both the marque’s other signature hardware – Lineartronic CVT automatic transmission and Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive (AWD).
Other amenities touted include Dual X-Mode, up to eight airbags lining the cabin, Subaru EyeSight 4.0 ADAS package supported by stereo cameras, followed by a 360-degree parking camera, wireless charging pad, powered tailgate, and more.
Expect more details released by Motor Image in the coming weeks leading up to the new sixth-gen Subaru Forester model’s official launch.
