Teaser images of the Lepas L4 premium B-SUV released by Lepas Malaysia on its official Facebook page earlier this week.

With the New Year looming, Lepas Malaysia is seizing the initiative early evident through its latest teaser posted on its official Facebook page this week featuring its Lepas L4 – in bright pink, of all exterior hues – premium B-SUV offering.

As a refresher, the Chery-owned and Chery Corporate Malaysia-runned premium sub-brand – set to slot in between the main Chery and Omoda | Jaecoo/iCaur luxury marques – confirmed its intent on launching in the local market within the first quarter (Q1) of 2026.

Carz.com.my can also confirm that sample vehicles are already in country undergoing tests and type approval with the Road Transport Department (JPJ). In short, we can certainly expect critical business and product updates ahead of its launch in the coming months.

Back to the teaser mentioned, it’s clear that Lepas Malaysia wants to take the fight up to popular premium B-SUVs like the face-lifted 2025 Proton X50, refreshed 2025 Honda HR-V, as well as the Toyota Corolla Cross.

Having sized it up in concept form prior, we can confirm the Lepas L4 has the footprint and dimension figures that puts it squarely in the B-SUVs space – it sits 4,400 MM long, 1,820 MM wide and 1,635 MM tall.

No interior images were released yet, but given what we saw in its not so distant cousins the Chery Tiggo Cross and Jaecoo J5 (also tipped for launch soon), we can perhaps expect to see similar levels of luxe and tech brimmed in this supposed ‘mid-market’ offering.

What remains anyone’s guess still is powertrain(s). Overseas, the Lepas L4 is available in both traditional combustion (ICE) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) forms. Little is known about the latter other than a reported claimed WLTP range figures of 300 KM and 450 KM.

As for the ICE-powered versions, both a 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol lumps are offered in China, both paired with a 6-speed DCT automatic box. There’s even a third electrified plug-in hybrid (PHEV) choice available that harnesses the 1.5-litre turbo petrol mill noted.

Besides that, the only question left is price, and we’ll leave that to you lot to speculate. Hit the comments below on what figures you reckon ought to be a ‘attractive’ and ‘fair’ for the Lepas L4 to command should it launch in Malaysia soon…
