MG S5 EV Prices Revised – From RM107,900 Now
The MG S5 EV sees its prices revised earlier today. The price change are largely driven by recently announced plans by MG Motor Malaysia to localise (CKD) said model soon.

Earlier today, SAIC Motor Malaysia (MG Motor Malaysia) announced revised pricing schemes for the MG S5 EV. As a refresher, this all-electric (EV) C-SUV offering was first previewed in April this year before prices were announced in late May this year.
Additionally, MG Motor Malaysia and partnering contract-assemblers EP Manufacturing Bhd (EPMB) confirmed earlier this month that the MG S5 EV will be the first model to be locally assembled (CKD) from the Anglo-Chinese brand’s line-up.
The MG S5 EV now commands just RM107,900 in base Com guise, RM117,900 in mid-specced Com LR guise, and RM127,900 for the range-topping Lux LR variant.

The latest price revision stems from the incoming CKD plans noted. With that, the MG S5 EV now sees its baseline Com variant tagged at RM107,900, whilst the mid-specced Com Long Range now goes for RM117,900 instead. The range-topping Lux Long Range guise, on the other hand, now commands RM127,900 instead.
In contrast, MG Motor Malaysia initially launched the model priced at RM115,900 (Com), RM125,900 (Com LR), and RM135,900 (Lux LR). At launch, a promotional rebate of RM6,000 was offered to the first 500 customers too, bringing the figures for them down to just RM109,900, RM119,900 and RM129,900 respectively.

With the choice between free charging credits or a complimentary wallbox on hand, the new prices see the MG S5 EV benefit with up to RM10,000 in total savings versus its initial launch price.

Besides lower prices, MG Motor Malaysia will also include the choice between a complimentary 7 kW AC home wallbox charger or complimentary EV charging credits through the ‘Ultimate Ownership Package’ deal. Altogether, the firm touts total savings of up to RM10,000 for customers now.
“This price revision reflects our commitment to make EV ownership more attainable for Malaysians as we prepare for the next phase of MG’s localisation strategy,” affirms Emory QiFeng, MD of SAIC Motor Malaysia. He added that through the upcoming CKD plans noted, the firm ensures that “customers benefit from greater value and flexibility while we expand MG’s presence in Malaysia.”

MG S5 EV from its initial preview held back in April this year. All variants share a rear-motor, RWD setup offering 170 PS and 250 Nm outputs.

As a refresher, the MG S5 EV features a single rear e-motor driving the rear wheels (RWD) with 170 PS and 250 Nm. Juicing which is either a 49 kWH (Com) and 62 kWh (Com LR & Lux LR) battery pack promising up to 340 KM and 430 KM of WLTP-rated range respectively. Both choices also accepts 7 kW AC and up to 150 kW DC charging speeds.
Key featured brimmed include striking all-LED forward and rear lighting, 18-inch rolling stock, panoramic sunroof, combination leather-fabric upholstery, 360-degree parking view camera, 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, 10.25-inch digital instrumentation, and more.

The MG S5 EV is also one of the most fully-equipped offerings in class. See details below.

Critically, the MG S5 EV is also brimmed with a comprehensive advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features package that delivers high-levels of semi-autonomous driving capabilities. We’ll also add it features a sizeable 453-litre standard boot space that’s expandable up to 1,441 litres.
Though the firm did not mention it in its release today, it’s presumed that there are no changes to warranties. As a refresher, the MG S5 EV was launched with a 7-year or 150,000 KM base vehicle warranty, followed by separate 8-year or 180,000 KM EV battery warranty and an 8-year or 160,000 KM e-motor and motor control unit warranty.
