The previously shown Omoda C3 has been renamed Omoda 4 and is set to debut later in 2026.

Making its first global preview debut at the ongoing Omoda & Jaecoo International User Summit 2025 in Wuhu, China, is the brand’s new compact crossover, the Omoda 4. Previously shown as the Omoda C3 earlier this year, this B-segment sporty crossover has been simply renamed to Omoda 4, where it will become O&J’s next global product.

On the design front, the new Omoda 4 looks similar to its then twin, featuring a mecha-inspired look with tons of sharp design elements. Up front, the O4 differentiates itself from its bigger siblings by having a cleaner front fascia, featuring dual-stack LED headlights and a hexagonal-shaped front air intake.

The side profile is where the O4 ups the ante, as it features tons of hexagonal design elements, including on the wheel arches, side mirrors, and even the door handles. Besides the two-tone darkened roof and the flared-out rear fenders, the O4 also rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with a more conventional design than the unit seen on the C3 prior.

Things are less ‘dramatic’ at the rear part of the O4, where it gets a cleaner tailgate design, featuring slim LED headlights with zig-zag lighting signatures a la Omoda C7, a roof-mounted spoiler, and plastic rear bumper garnishes to match the side claddings.

The mecha-inspired theme continues inside the O4, with the biggest highlight being its jet fighter-style engine start button located at the central console. Other key amenities primed here include sporty front seats with hexagonal quilting inserts, a large, portrait-oriented infotainment display, a large panoramic glass roof, a sizable boot space with a space-saver spare wheel, and many more.

Given that today's event is just a mere preview of the model, not many details were given regarding the new O4, including its powertrain setup. That said, the ‘225T’ badge on its tailgate might indicate its total torque output, as seen in many other Chery Group products before.

Should this be true, then the O4 could be powered by the same 1.5-litre 4-cyl Acteco turbo-petrol engine as the Chery O5, which outputs about 154 hp and 230 Nm in the facelifted version of the car. Not to forget, the absence of any charging port also further strengthens this, thus confirming that the displayed unit here does not boast any electrification of some sort.

That said, the new Omoda 4 is slated to make its global debut sometime later in 2026, where it will become the most compact model in O&J’s global product lineup, alongside the Jaecoo J5. We’ve also been told that there will be a sportier version of the car known as the Omoda 4 Ultra, featuring additional styling kits and pieces, which will be unveiled later next week. Stay tuned!
