Proton e.MAS 5 Bookings Opened With RM60,000-RM80,000 Estimate Price & RM99 Fee
The Proton e.MAS 5 as shown to us from its first official press preview earlier this year. Bookings are now opened with PRO-NET also announcing estimated starting prices for which earlier tonight.

Following a lengthy special online live-stream event held earlier this evening that kept everyone holding their breaths, national automaker Proton – via its PRO-NET arm – finally revealed the estimated starting price for its upcoming compact EV hatch that is the e.MAS 5.
We’ll get straight into it and P1 touts the e.MAS 5 will tentatively command between RM60,000 to RM80,000. PRO-NET CEO Zang Qiang also confirmed two variants for the local market tonight, those being the ‘Prime’ and ‘Premium’ grades.
For reference, the next most ‘accessibly-priced’ brand new EVs listed for sale in Malaysia now are both the BYD Dolphin EV hatch and its lifted crossover cousin the BYD Atto 2 – both are tagged at RM100,000 nett excluding rebates, incentives, as well as on-road costs.

Next, with a nominal fee of just RM99, the e.MAS 5 firstly sees online bookings opened now via the official Proton e.MAS website – emas.proton.com. Alternatively, bookings can be placed at any of the 42 Proton e.MAS dealerships established thus far. Of course, that’s not all.
Moreover, the first 5 ,000 customers who place early bookings for the e.MAS 5 will firstly get a reward in the form of a limited-edition Proton e.MAS Touch ‘n Go NFC Card preloaded with RM100 credit. Secondly, these early buyers will also be granted with an RM500 booking fee rebate too.
Critically, just after announcing the tentative prices, PRO-NET updated and furnished the Proton e.MAS 5 bookings page with several basic specs for both variants, and you can see said details – some of which are new to us too – via the screenshots below.

Included here too were both the five exterior and two interior colourway options on offer. Ironically though, despite the last fact, the Proton e.MAS 5 pictured on said webpage continues to wear its exterior ‘camouflage’ - even throghout the livestream event mentioned.
Nevertheless, with everything we’ve detailed thus far, what do you folks reckon? Is the Proton e.MAS 5 promising enough versus the next ‘affordable’ alternatives we noted? Or would you rather wait and see how Rawang-based rivals Perodua will respond? Hit the comments below…
