Chery Malaysia joined the nation in welcoming home Malaysia’s athletes from the Asian Youth Para Games in Dubai, following the contingent’s strongest performance to date.
Competing across eight sports, the team secured 39 medals comprising 14 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze, marking a significant improvement from the 13 medals won at the previous edition in Bahrain.

The Asian Youth Para Games is a regional multi-sport event that provides young para athletes with the opportunity to compete at an international level and gain early exposure to elite competition.
This year’s Games brought together emerging athletes from across Asia, with Malaysia delivering one of its best showings in the competition’s history.

Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur, the athletes were greeted by family members as well as representatives from the National Sports Council and Chery Malaysia, who welcomed them with flowers and provided transportation to ensure a smooth return home.
Ahead of the Games, Chery also supported the contingent by ferrying all 29 athletes and their coaches to Kuala Lumpur International Airport in a convoy of SUVs.

“Malaysia’s historic medal haul sets a new benchmark for para sports in the region, and Chery Malaysia is very proud of the achievement of these athletes,” said Men Lin Bo, Executive Vice President of Chery Malaysia.

Among the standout performers was swimmer Elysha Cheong Hui Yin, who won four gold medals and one bronze in her first international appearance. Badminton partners Cheah You Zhou and Ahmed Shahputra Abdul Rahim secured gold in the Men’s Doubles SH6 category, while powerlifter Johannes Gabriel Chew added a silver medal in the Next Gen Men’s up to 65kg event.
The Games, themed Born to Rise, aim to nurture the next generation of para athletes while promoting inclusivity and sporting excellence. Chery’s involvement reflects its broader commitment to youth development and long-term support for the Asian Paralympic movement through regional and international initiatives.
