GWM Malaysia Posts 177% Growth In 2025
![]()
GWM Malaysia closed 2025 on a high, posting an impressive 177% growth over the previous year. The results show that Malaysians are increasingly confident in the brand and underline GWM’s growing presence in the country’s electrified car market.
A big part of that growth came from hybrids. GWM finished the year third in the segment, capturing a 15.5% market share.

Leading the charge was the Haval H6 HEV. It became the second best-selling hybrid in Malaysia last year, taking nearly 15% of the HEV market. Its mix of fuel efficiency, everyday practicality, and smart hybrid technology struck a chord with local drivers, showing that hybrids can fit seamlessly into everyday life.
It’s clear that Malaysians are ready for hybrids that actually make sense, and GWM isn’t stopping there. The brand is preparing for the next phase of its hybrid journey with Hi4, its next-generation hybrid platform, which promises smarter energy management and stronger performance for future models.

The first Hi4-based model to launch in Malaysia will be the WEY G9 MPV, expected later this month. The new MPV aims to raise the brand’s profile and offer Malaysian buyers a truly premium, tech-forward option.
COO En. Roslan Abdullah said the H6 HEV’s popularity proves that Malaysians are ready for well-rounded hybrids, while the WEY G9 reflects the brand’s confidence in expanding its portfolio.

GWM’s success in Malaysia is part of a bigger picture. Globally, the company sold 1.32 million vehicles in 2025, with overseas deliveries rising 11.7% to just over 500,000 units. New energy vehicles were a major driver, growing 25% to more than 400,000 units worldwide.
Looking ahead to 2026, GWM Malaysia plans to build on this momentum. With a stronger hybrid lineup and more electrified options as the brand is set to deliver cars that are not just efficient and practical, but smart, premium, and ready for the future.
