Fancy giving your Proton X50 a sportier look without spending a fortune? Proton has officially launched the All-New Proton X50 Sport Edition (SE), offering 15 exclusive exterior and interior enhancements for an additional RM1,999 over the standard Flagship variant.
According to Proton, the package includes RM7,000 worth of enhancements, ranging from black 18-inch alloy wheels and sporty body skirtings to red interior stitching and exclusive Sport Edition detailing.
But here's something worth knowing: the Sport Edition isn't a separate mechanical variant. It's a dedicated styling package based on the X50 Flagship, meaning you still get the same engine, technology and safety equipment.
⚡ TL;DR: PROTON X50 SPORT EDITION
Package price: RM1,999 extra over the X50 Flagship.
Upgrades: 15 exterior and interior enhancements, valued at RM7,000 by Proton.
Performance: Same 181 PS, 290 Nm turbocharged engine.
Total price: From RM102,299 in Peninsular Malaysia, based on October 2026 promotional pricing.
So, what exactly changes for the extra RM1,999? Most of the enhancements focus on giving the X50 a more distinctive appearance, both inside and out.
WHAT YOU GET FOR RM1,999 EXTRA
EXTERIOR UPGRADES
Black 18-inch alloy wheels, black front and rear exterior garnishes, exclusive Sport Edition front, side and rear skirtings, and a dedicated Sport Edition emblem.
INTERIOR UPGRADES

What about performance? Despite the Sport Edition badge, there's no extra horsepower. The X50 SE retains the Flagship's 1.5-litre i-GT turbocharged engine, delivering 181 PS and 290 Nm through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

The existing equipment is carried over too, including the 14.6-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Hi PROTON voice commands and Proton Link 2.0.
Safety features remain unchanged, with 15 ADAS functions, Auto Park Assist, a 360-degree HD camera with 180-degree Transparent View and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
Now for the price. With the RM1,999 Sport Edition package added, the X50 SE works out to RM102,299 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM104,299 in East Malaysia, based on Proton's October 2026 promotional pricing.
Buyers also retain the Flagship's existing ownership benefits, including a five-year unlimited-mileage warranty, free labour for six services and a five-year in-car data package with 2GB monthly, subject to the applicable terms.

Yes. The RM102,299 Peninsular Malaysia price is the calculated total, comprising the promotional X50 Flagship price of RM100,300 plus the RM1,999 Sport Edition package. This pricing reflects Proton's October 2026 promotion and excludes insurance.
